Hours: 200 Hours taught over 8 weekends In-person + Personal Development and Class Attendance.

Place availability: To ensure quality and connection we accept a maximum of 12 trainees on the course. 

Accreditation: Santosha Yoga is fully accredited by Yoga Alliance, which is recognised all over the world for its rigorous standards. It is also recognised by Ofqual, the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity, the sector’s professional regulatory body.  

Yoga Alliance is the largest nonprofit association representing the yoga community, with over 7,000 Registered Yoga Schools (RYS) and more than 100,000 Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT) as of April 2020.

We foster and support the high quality, safe, accessible, and equitable teaching of yoga.


With this accreditation and upon graduation the Yoga Alliance certification enables you to travel abroad without conversion.

Course Information 


Yoga Styles Covered: Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin & Restorative

Core – strength, stability and bandhas.

Fundamentals to vinyasa – breath, foundation, action and intention.

Understanding vinyasa-krama (the art of building up to a posture).

Using counter postures.

Principles of adjustments.

Foundations, form and function.

Understanding the body as a system of systems.

Yogic Philosphy

Functional Anatomy (the muscular and skeletal systems).

Introduction to Sanskrit, the ancient language of yoga.

Focus on key standing, twisting, back and forward bend postures.

Understanding inversions and arm balances. (You don't need to be able to do them)

Pranayama and breathing practices.

Creating a self-practice.

Mantra and mudras.

Understanding how the ancient yoga texts are still very relevant.

Patanjali’s yoga sutras and the Eightfold Path.

Cleaning up and the kriyas.

Introduction to chanting.

Prana, chakras and the energy body.

Dharma and karma

Indian deities and iconography and how they relate to what we do.

Understanding mindfulness and meditation.

Changing up your practice - a non-dogmatic approach

The different ways of learning – audio, visual and kinaesthetic.

Qualities of a good teacher.

Theming your class

Learning to the sequence.

Practising what you preach.

Creating your own unique style.

Music, philosophy and intention – integrating things in class.

Dialogue and tone.

Demonstrating and learning without burnout.

Looking at people's bodies and learning to read them.

Dealing with teaching nerves.

Course is limited to 10 students

1 bursary can be offered to one student depending on the individual. 


Full Price: The total course fee is £2500

Monthly Payment Option: A deposit of £500, then 8 monthly installments of £250.00

Montly Payment Option: A deposit of £1000, then 8 monthly installments of £187.50

What to expect on a training day: 


Friday 5 pm - 8.30 pm: Begining with an evening led practice taught by the faculty teacher, followed by a snack break, then exploration of postures, adjusting, learning how to cue postures. 


Saturday 8 am - 4.00 pm: Morning self-practice or led practice, teaching practice, creative sequencing, lectures on Anatomy, Yogic Philosophy, Subtle Body. 

There is always plenty of tea and snack breaks during the training days. Teas are always provided!
